Week #16: LinkedIn

Image
Chapter 6: LinkedIn Now LinkedIn is fantastic. Especially if you're seeking a job. But it’s also fantastic if you want to advertise for yourself or your business. It’s best used to market your business to other businesses, aka that B2B life. This social media tool is much more limited in your audience. The users are mostly professionals so your tone of advertising has to be concise, professional, and engaging all at once. This makes it difficult but not impossible to market. The way you can hype yourself up is by connecting to relevant people and listing your accomplishments as well as including links or attachments to samples of your work. People will come flocking to your business if you use your LinkedIn profile effectively. But in my personal opinion, this social media website is great for connecting with people who have similar backgrounds as you. If that’s your target audience, then go for it! Happy LinkedIn-ing!

Week #15: Artificial Intelligence Is Going To Take Away Jobs?!

Image
As a student who is going to graduate from college in the near future, reading about AI (Artificial Intelligence) I am a bit alarmed. Although some articles mention there is much time before AI will have a heavy impact on our jobs, it can be seen that the takeover has already begun. The threat of self-driving cars has many truck drivers uneasy. Self-driving cars will put thousands of truck drivers out of work.   However, it is not only truck drivers. Many other employees in large corporations are at risk of losing their jobs. One article was written in March 2017 by CNN Tech states, 38% of jobs in the U.S. are at risk of being replaced by robots and artificial intelligence over the next 15 years. The risk is not just in the United States. It plays a role in many major countries.   Shown below is a percentage table showing what percent of these countries jobs AI will affect. AI is a great step towards innovation for everyone, however; the gap between the

Week #14: Pay Per Click

Image
Pay per click ad extensions can be very helpful when it comes to adding extra links to your advertisement. This will help direct viewers to the exact location they are hoping for. These site links will create a shortcut to the main areas of your website that customers could be interested in.  The words at the bottom such as, get involved, donate, contact big cat rescue, and visit the big cats are all examples of ad extensions. It is fairly easy to add ad extensions to your ad through Google Adwords if you haven’t already done so on your ads. At the top of the page there is a tab called Ad Extensions. Once you click on the tab you will have the option of adding site link extensions and location extensions. After adding the extension you will add the site link of the specific landing page you want your advertisement to incorporate. The great part about this east access is that it’ll boost your ads clicks as well as the CTR rate. It is also important to remember not to b

Week #13: Pictures with SEO

Image
Chapter 2 It is very easy to reach a wide range of audience members in order to advertise your product or service. Facebook pages also allow you to utilize additional skills like digital image editing to make your advertising more appealing.  In the long term, the social media tool has a good idea despite its limitations. It is a central “hub” for social media that can amplify the awareness of your product or service. It is something a business or individual should legitimately consider as an advertising platform.  Here is an example of a mock flyer with helpful information: The point is to have an image and text that goes with the message.

Week #12 : How to Pass Certification Exam

Image
SEO certified is a great addition to add to your resume and LinkedIn skill set! The exam is 20 questions with unlimited time and you have to get a score of 80% or higher to pass. It'll also cost $50 to take the actual exam. If you fail you can keep retaking the exam. The exam covers basic and advanced concepts, including best practices for creating, managing, measuring, and optimizing. Because I was familiar with the way the exam worked I took this exam twice. Once I failed and the other time I passed!  ^Happy life A lot of information can be difficult to retain. I decided that this time around I wouldn’t type out my notes. I hand wrote every single page sometimes twice if I didn’t understand the concepts mentioned on the page. I went about it this way because when you write something down your brain is more prone to remember the content you are writing. This is important not just for Adwords, but also for anything. If you want to remember something, write it down a

Week #11: Images and SEO

Image
Images and SEO Images are important because they grasp the attention of consumers. Companys should make sure they have nice clean pictures that relate to their content. It is also important to have a color palette that matches because the last thing you want is to seem outdated. Including images in content can also help bring traffic to your site as you can include keywords within your images as well. Google looks for content that is organized and clean because it wants to block out any kind of "spammy" sites from being associated with it. That's why sites that have a direct and clear message will get higher hits than those that do not. I encourage anyone out there who is thinking about using it to take a leap and do it. At first, it is tricky but there are many resources you can use to better your understanding. I learned the importance of being multi-channeled. Technology is going to continue to evolve and it is my generation's responsibility to figure out wha
