Week #2: Skillbox

Chapter 2: Skillbox - content

An important aspect to think about when initiating a marketing plan on social media is your content. For beginners, you should start by thinking about three concepts; curation, creation, and collaboration. Curation is a good starting point for those who feel they are not very imaginative or creative. With curation you can search for various forms of content already produced by others and combine them together in order to convey your message. Creation is more time consuming but generally speaking more fun! This is for those who enjoy the freedom of designing their own content from scratch, basically. Whether it be a blog post, video, or an article, you can begin by selecting your audience to be as broad or niche as your heart desires, then develop your content from there. You can even ask your desired audience what they would like to see and do what you are able to then have someone else complete the rest; creation is great! The last concept, collaboration, is great because you can work with people who have common interests with you. The topic of interest can be about entertainment, sports, or thoughts and actions that promote social injustices that you wish to exterminate from the minds of fellow citizens of your world.

By investing in creating content in these manners, you can hone your skills to becoming a content producing pro. If a client wants your help to create content for them, you will have the skills and familiarity of working with tools like Google, website generators, or blog sites to aid them in their endeavors. There are a lot of tools out there to use, using simple ones like Google is a great way to learn and get started in order to use more advanced mechanisms for a more creative and detail oriented product.
