Week #3: SEO

Chapter 3: SEO

A huge part of social media marketing is creating traffic by posting content on social platforms. The idea is to create as much traffic as possible to your specific page. Tracking the responses from different patrons is important because it will show a company what type of posts their audience will interact with the most. A crucial part in social media marketing is analyzing the audience. Companies should be monitoring and listening to the different social media properties do this. They can be divided media coverage into two different sections, owned media and earned media.

Owned media are the social media properties owned by companies. This includes any accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. These accounts are owned and run by you. These platforms are places companies are able to interact with their audience. The more interactions there are with the audience the better for the company.

This is where earned media comes in. This is the interaction the audience is willing to make with the posts made by you. This includes, likes, comments, and shares of your initial post.

Social analytics play a crucial role in social media marketing. In order for any online page to succeed, they need to be aware of their audience and how they can build on top of it and get more people to look at their page. A really easy way to check out analytics is to simply use the information provided by the website. For example, on Facebook every page that is created is able to access an analytics review of how their page is doing. Marketers can use this to change their approach for getting more customers and traffic. This is a helpful tool and should be used. Google also provides analytics. Taking advantage of this can really help businesses.
